About the Role

This is an exciting opportunity to join AXIS Capital as a Senior Underwriter in our London office. As a key member of our Casualty Treaty team, you will be responsible for evaluating risks, setting coverage and pricing, and collaborating with the Head of Casualty to drive portfolio growth.

Key Responsibilities
  • Originate, underwrite, and assist with costing of Casualty treaty business in compliance with guidelines and within allocated authority.
  • Build and maintain broker and client professional networks to support profitable business origination through the Lloyd's broker market.
  • Track industry and market developments and raise these for strategic discussions with clients.
  • Participate in underwriting audits and monitoring of account performance.
  • Maintain an understanding of all current issues affecting the insurance and reinsurance industries in the Casualty line of business.
  • Travel to service customers and attend industry conferences.
About You

We are looking for a highly skilled and experienced underwriter with a strong industry network and a deep understanding of the Casualty insurance/reinsurance markets. You will have a proven track record of success in underwriting and a strong ability to build and maintain relationships with brokers and clients.

Key qualifications include:

  • ACII qualified or close to completion.
  • Strong industry relationships and a well-respected reputation among brokers and insurers.
  • Working knowledge of actuarial and pricing concepts.
  • A thorough understanding of the underlying business.
  • Excellent marketing skills and the ability to develop and maintain relationships with brokers and insurers.
