About the Role

This is an exciting opportunity to join AXIS Capital, a leading global provider of specialty lines insurance and reinsurance, as a Senior Underwriter in our Lloyd's Casualty Treaty team.

Key Responsibilities
  • Evaluate risks and set coverage and pricing for Casualty Treaty business sourced from Lloyd's brokers.
  • Collaborate with the Head of Casualty to drive portfolio growth and develop strategic relationships with brokers and insurers.
  • Originate, underwrite, and assist with costing of Casualty treaty business in compliance with guidelines and within allocated authority.
  • Build and maintain professional networks with brokers and clients to support profitable business origination.
  • Track industry and market developments and provide strategic insights to clients.
  • Participate in underwriting audits and monitoring of account performance.
  • Maintain a thorough understanding of the Casualty insurance/reinsurance markets and stay up-to-date with industry trends.
About You

We are looking for a highly skilled and experienced underwriter with a strong industry network and a deep understanding of the Casualty insurance/reinsurance markets. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record of driving portfolio growth and developing strategic relationships with brokers and insurers.

Key qualifications include:

  • ACII qualification or close to completion.
  • Strong industry relationships and a reputation as a trusted underwriting professional.
  • Working knowledge of actuarial and pricing concepts and experience partnering with actuarial teams.
  • Excellent marketing skills and the ability to develop and maintain relationships with brokers and insurers.
  • Strong focus on identifying client needs and flexibility in developing solutions.
  • Enthusiasm for new business opportunities and a desire to think creatively.
  • Strong communication, negotiation, and influencing skills.
  • Ability to work in a demanding environment and effectively lead change.
