Army Head of Training Design

The Ministry of Defence is seeking a highly skilled and experienced individual to fill the role of Army Head of Training Design. This position is responsible for providing functional leadership to the Royal School of Military Engineering Group (RSME Gp) and its training design team.
Job SummaryThe successful candidate will be responsible for implementing internal policies, prioritizing training design, and overseeing the development of training materials. They will also be responsible for managing a team of 5 Civil Servants and 4 tri-service Military staff.
Key Responsibilities- Consult with appropriate bodies to identify new equipment entering syllabus and collaborate with colleagues on new equipment projects
- Review Methods & Media assessments and reports and Contractor developed training documentation for new equipment
- Advise Official Equipment Manufacturers (OEM) and Training Working Group (TWG) training documentation
- Capture training design progress on Priority Courses and update the Commandant and Senior Leadership Team
- Actively seek new technology which can enhance the design and delivery of training
- Maintain knowledge of new developments in the fields of learning development, design, internal validation and learning technology
- Manage prioritisation process by utilising and developing the Training Design Management Tool (TDPT)
- Attend online and in person training meetings as team leader, representing your department
- Conduct 1st party audit activities for RSME Group as directed
- Travel to all locations where RSME Schools and Units are based across the UK
The successful candidate will be self-motivated with a passion for learning and development. They will be a committed team player, capable of working independently with an ability to clearly focus on outcomes and with strong interpersonal skills.
- Must possess proven competence in the use of Information Systems and/or European Computer Driving License (ECDL)
- Must be able to effectively research and reference documents from a wide variety of sources
- Must have proven Project management experience or be willing to complete Civil Service Learning Project Management e-learning training modules
