Mechanical Design Engineer

We are seeking an experienced Mechanical Design Engineer to join our team at Pearson Whiffin - Manufacturing, Engineering & Technical. As a key member of our design team, you will be responsible for developing and designing new products, driving growth for the business, and providing technical support to other teams.
Key Responsibilities:- Design and develop new products using AutoCAD Inventor and other design tools
- Document validation and verification processes to ensure quality and safety
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to drive growth and innovation
- Provide technical support to other teams and departments
- Control the Bill of Materials and ensure accurate documentation
- Design and develop testing rigs to validate product performance
- Follow quality and health and safety processes to ensure a safe working environment
- Proven track record of developing new products on time, within budget, and to specification
- Degree in an Engineering discipline
- Familiarity with Design for Manufacturing (DFM), Design for Assembly (DFA), and lean manufacturing methodologies
- Strong communication skills and ability to work collaboratively with others
- Experience in designing safety or life-critical products
- Basic understanding of electronics and electrical systems
- Understanding of Finite Element Analysis (FEA)
