Assistant Librarian

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Assistant Librarian to join our team at Ad Warrior. The successful candidate will be responsible for assisting the Librarian in developing and managing the library collection and services, as well as maintaining relationships with relevant institutions.
Main Responsibilities- Reader Services:
- Providing exceptional customer service and support to internal and external users
- Assisting with the retrieval and re-shelving of requested materials
- Participating in and delivering information services, including induction and information skills training
- Supporting users with e-resources inquiries and photocopying/scanning requests
- Collection Management:
- Cataloging and copy-cataloging materials in Arabic and Western languages according to RDA/MARC21 standards
- Receiving and processing serials and monographs
- Retrieving reports and statistics from ALMA as requested
- Developing and maintaining statistics relevant to the Centre's collection
- Library Management:
- Deputizing for the Librarian in their absence
- Maintaining the Library budget
- General management of the Library supply material and documentation
- Assisting the Librarian with the training and supervision of Library Assistants
- Honours degree or equivalent in a subject area related to Middle East or Islamic studies
- Excellent standard of oral and written English
- Good to excellent knowledge of Arabic
- Excellent IT skills and knowledge of Microsoft Office
- A good understanding of electronic information resources and digital media
- Cataloguing experience and knowledge of relevant cataloguing standards
- Knowledge and experience with library management systems
- Previous experience of at least 3 years in a paid position in an academic library
