Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Maintenance Technician - Equipment Specialist to join our team at Intertape Polymer Group (IPG). The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring the integrity and correct functioning of machine guarding, interlocks, and safety devices.

Key Responsibilities

  • Equipment Maintenance
    • Undertake preventive and reactive maintenance activities to ensure the operation of machinery and mechanical equipment.
    • Identify and troubleshoot equipment issues, and perform repairs as necessary.
  • Condition Monitoring
    • Conduct regular condition monitoring activities to identify unacceptable wear and determine changes in dimensional requirements of parts.
    • Track and analyze changes in condition-indicative characteristics using appropriate equipment and techniques.
  • Inventory Management
    • Maintain accurate records of equipment, parts, and supplies inventories.
    • Anticipate and order necessary equipment, parts, and consumables to ensure minimal downtime.
  • Technical Knowledge
    • Stay up-to-date with the latest technical developments and advancements in the field of mechanical engineering.
    • Participate in ongoing training and professional development to enhance skills and knowledge.

Requirements

  • HNC or equivalent in Mechanical Engineering or Electrical Engineering.
  • Time served maintenance technician with 5 years related industrial maintenance experience or equivalent.

Desirable Skills

  • Practical knowledge of pneumatics, hydraulics, and electrical/electronic motion control systems.
  • Experience with troubleshooting and repairing motors and drives.
  • Practical understanding of PLC systems and ability to interrogate, identify, and correct errors.

  • Ability to work on own initiative and without direct supervision.
