PRU Teaching Assistant Role

We are seeking a dedicated and experienced PRU Teaching Assistant to join our team at a specialist Pupil Referral Unit in Wandsworth, Southwest London.

The successful candidate will have a strong background in behaviour management and experience working with students with Special Educational Needs (SEN). The role will involve supporting students across Key Stage 3, providing individualized support and promoting a positive learning environment.

About the School

The school caters to 60 children of secondary age who have struggled to access mainstream education. Students have been referred to the site for various reasons, including having an EHCP, being permanently excluded, or having prolonged periods of absence from school.

The Role

As a PRU Teaching Assistant, you will be responsible for:

  • Supporting students with SEN in a challenging but rewarding environment
  • Providing individualized support to students, promoting their academic and personal development
  • Working closely with teachers and other support staff to develop and implement effective learning plans
  • Contributing to the creation of a positive and inclusive learning environment
