About the Role

This salaried GP position offers a challenging and rewarding career path, allowing you to develop your skills and experience while making a real difference in the lives of our patients.

You will be responsible for managing a caseload and providing a wide range of health services to patients in a primary care setting. This will include undertaking surgery consultations, telephone consultations, visiting patients at home, checking and signing repeat prescriptions, and dealing with queries and paperwork in a timely fashion.

You will also be required to make professional, autonomous decisions in relation to presenting problems, whether self-referred or referred from other healthcare workers within the organisation.

Assessing the healthcare needs of patients with undifferentiated and undiagnosed problems will also be a key aspect of this role, as well as screening patients for disease risk factors and early signs of illness, developing care plans for health in consultation with patients and in line with current practice disease management protocols, and providing counselling and health education.

Person Specification
  • Experience in chronic disease management, primary prevention, and screening services
  • Clinical Governance and delivery of QoF targets
  • Self-audit and reflection, organised and efficient record keeping
  • Time management and prioritisation, adaptability to change
  • Service development and willingness to learn new skills and problem-solve
Qualifications and Experience
  • Fully qualified GP with GMC registration, annual appraisal, and revalidation
  • General Practice Vocational Training Scheme trained, PCT medical performers list
  • Enhanced CRB check, UK driving licence, CPR certificate, and medical indemnity cover
  • Evidence of continued professional development and MRCGP qualification
Additional Criteria
  • Willingness to share and collaborate across the entire primary health team
  • Ability to develop and maintain effective working relationships with multi-disciplinary teams
  • Flexibility, ability to recognise own limitations, and act upon them appropriately
  • Commitment to primary prevention, health improvement, addressing health inequalities, and inputting to strategic and practice development requirements
