Job Description


Vetro Recruitment is seeking to recruit experienced and dedicated Behaviour Specialist Teaching Assistants to work in a Pupil Referral Service. The school supports learners with SEMH, SEBD, EBD, and challenging behaviour. Vetro Recruitment is looking for Behaviour Specialist Teaching Assistants who are experienced in these fields and can work in a variety of settings, including Primary, Secondary, and SEN schools.

  • Title: Behaviour Specialist Teaching Assistants
  • Pay: £83.50 per day minimum
  • Location: Aberdare, RCT
  • Hours: Full time - Monday to Friday 8:30am - 3:30pm

The Role: What You'll Be Doing as a Behaviour Specialist Teaching Assistant

  • Supporting and supervising learners with SEMH, SEBD, EBD, or challenging behaviour
  • Assisting learners at the start of the school day and when leaving at the end of the day
  • Assisting staff members in preparing the classroom for a lesson
  • Working with learners in small groups and/or working 1:1 with children with additional needs
  • Support the class teacher in the delivery of lessons
  • Assist learners at break time with their lunch
  • Engage learners with both classroom and out-of-classroom activities
  • Work in accordance with the school's behaviour management policies

The Candidate: What You'll Need to Be Successful as a Behaviour Specialist Teaching Assistant

  • At least 3 months' experience of working with children in schools, nurseries, or childcare settings - experience within an SEN setting would be beneficial
  • Registration with the EWC (the Education Workforce Council) - Vetro Recruitment can help you with this
  • References covering the last two years (no gaps)
  • Hold a current Enhanced DBS on the update service or be willing to obtain one
  • The right to work in the UK
