Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Academic English Tutor to join our team at Study Group. As a key member of our Centre, you will play a vital role in delivering high-quality teaching and learning experiences to our students.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Prepare and deliver teaching lectures, seminars, and tutorial sessions to students across a range of Academic English modules.
  • Contribute to the design, development, and production of teaching and learning materials, including module materials for the Virtual Learning Environment (VLE).
  • Mark students' formative and summative assessment submissions and provide timely feedback to students on their performance.
  • Develop and update course material for modules and teaching sessions, ensuring that it is engaging, informative, and meets the needs of our students.
  • Track students' academic journey and identify and implement appropriate intervention strategies to support ongoing learning.
  • Implement quality assurance procedures at module and teaching session level, contributing to the annual monitoring and review of courses.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of students' attendance and performance.
  • Attend and contribute to standardisation, moderation, and other quality assurance meetings.
  • Participate in regular meetings with teaching and support staff to contribute to the effective overall management of the programme and student life cycle.

Requirements:

  • A Bachelor's degree in a related subject area.
  • Relevant Teaching Qualification: TEFL-I/ TEFLQ status such as CELTA/DELTA/Trinity Dip or equivalent, and/or MA in TESOL/TEFL/Linguistics.
  • Fluent in spoken and written English.
  • Experience of teaching in the UK Higher or Further education sector and preferably a teaching qualification and experience of working with international students.
