Job SummaryThis is an exciting opportunity to join our team as a Development Underwriter for Professional Indemnity. As a key member of our underwriting team, you'll be responsible for assessing risks, making informed decisions, and working closely with regional or product colleagues to drive business growth.
You'll have the chance to develop and execute sales plans, build strong relationships with brokers and clients, and stay up-to-date with industry trends and best practices. If you're passionate about underwriting, have prior experience in professional indemnity risks, and are eager to take your career to the next level, this could be the perfect fit.
Responsibilities- Underwrite and assess risk for products and accounts from assigned brokers, making informed decisions within your authority and considering various approaches to maximize profitability.
- Consistently manage your book of business, maintaining the quality required by regional or product underwriting strategy, and adhere to documentation standards.
- Develop and leverage broker/client relationships through high visibility and disciplined sales management, supporting business objectives and driving growth.
- Create and achieve sales plans for assigned brokers, identifying new business opportunities and cross-selling TICL products.
- Collaborate with colleagues in other business units and regions to foster business development, actively participating in meetings and contributing to strategic objectives.
- Prior experience in underwriting professional indemnity risks, preferably with a degree education and ACII qualification.
- Strong knowledge of industry business operations, work methods, critical issues, and financial drivers affecting the Line of Business.
- Familiarity with the local insurance marketplace and ability to use this knowledge to the Company's advantage.
- Estimated salary range: £45,000 - £60,000 per annum (dependent on experience).
