Job Title: Finance Operations Manager

Freshfields Animal Rescue is a dynamic charity based in Liverpool, and we are seeking an experienced Finance Operations Manager to join our team. As a key member of our management team, you will be responsible for overseeing the financial operations of the charity, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements, and providing strategic financial guidance to support our organisation's growth.

The successful candidate will have a proven track record in financial management, with experience in budgeting, forecasting, financial reporting, and cash flow management. You will also possess excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with colleagues at all levels.

You will have a strong understanding of charity finance regulation, including GDPR and HMRC guidelines. You will be confident in using accounting software, such as Xero, and have experience in preparing and submitting financial reports to stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage the day-to-day financial operations of Freshfields Animal Rescue, including budgeting, forecasting, and financial reporting.
  • Oversee the administration of bank accounts and online transactions, reconciling bank statements and adopting checks and balances to safeguard our integrity.
  • Carry out the operational bookkeeping function in line with best practice and ensure that management accounts clearly and accurately reflect the current position of the charity.
  • Prepare and submit financial reports to stakeholders, including Trustees, donors, and regulators.
  • Liaise with the Assistant Director, Senior Managers, and section staff to produce and implement best practice standard operating procedures for all financial related activities across the whole charity, providing training and support where necessary.

Requirements:

  • Associate Chartered Accountant (ACA) Qualified desirable
  • AAT Level 4 Bookkeeping Qualified or equivalent essential
  • 4 years experience as a finance manager for a Charitable Organisation essential
  • Confident user of Xero accounting system desirable
  • Confident with common Microsoft Word packages essential
  • Project Management qualification and experience desirable
  • Robust understanding of charity regulation, finance regulation and GDPR essential

Salary: £31,200 p.a (£16 per hour)
