Gas and Electricity Network Director

This role is responsible for the overall management of our gas and electricity distribution network, ensuring that all aspects of network operations are carried out safely, efficiently, and in accordance with regulatory requirements.
The key responsibilities include ensuring that the network meets its targets and objectives, managing the day-to-day activities of the network team, conducting regular site visits to monitor network conditions and customer activities, and developing and implementing strategies to improve network performance and efficiency.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement plans to achieve network objectives.
- Ensure the network has the necessary resources and support to carry out its tasks effectively.
- Conduct regular performance reviews to identify areas for improvement.
- Develop and implement training programs to enhance network skills and knowledge.
- Identify and address any issues affecting network performance.
Person Specification:
- A proven background in leading a team of operational engineers, with experience in hands-on management.
- A strong background in LV electrical distribution network management, maintenance, and testing.
- Experience in assessing the status, specification, quality, and fitness for purpose of low voltage assets/networks and sites under construction.
- Several years' experience in the electric distribution business, knowledge of gas and water networks would be advantageous.
- Knowledge and practical experience of working with electricity, water, and gas distribution networks.
- A recognised or demonstrable background of supervisory management and/or H&S qualification such as IOSH or NEBOSH.
- Low voltage Authorised Person is essential for the role. Holding or working towards an Authorised SAP level would be desirable.
- SCO authorised up to 7barg would be desirable.
- Professional registration such as Eng Tech or IEng with a professionally registered institute such as IGEM or IET.
- Estimated salary: £70000 - £90000 per annum.
