About the Role

The Financial Conduct Authority (FCA) is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Head of Department to lead our Strategic Comms and News Department. As a key member of the Communication Directorate, you will play a pivotal role in shaping the FCA's communication strategy and ensuring that our messages are clear, concise, and compelling.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement a comprehensive communication strategy that aligns with the FCA's goals and objectives.
  • Lead a team of communications professionals to deliver high-quality content and campaigns that engage our target audiences.
  • Collaborate with senior leaders across the organization to ensure that communication considerations are factored into decision-making.
  • Represent the FCA in external forums and media outlets to promote our work and build trust with stakeholders.
  • Manage the department's budget and resources to ensure effective delivery of communication objectives.
Requirements
  • Proven experience in strategic communications, with a strong track record of developing and implementing successful communication campaigns.
  • Excellent leadership and management skills, with the ability to motivate and inspire a team of communications professionals.
  • Strong understanding of financial services and the FCA's role in regulating the sector.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build strong relationships with stakeholders at all levels.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and prioritize multiple tasks and deadlines.
