Production Team Lead

Job Summary:
We are seeking an experienced Production Supervisor to lead a multi-skilled team in a rapidly expanding manufacturing business. The successful candidate will be responsible for enhancing operational performance across safety, service, and cost management areas.
Key Responsibilities:
- Team Development: Oversee the maintenance and development of team competencies, working closely with other Production Supervisors and the Production Manager to coordinate training delivery.
- Culture and Accountability: Foster a positive culture of accountability and engagement to promote best practices in safety, service, and cost management.
- Lean Manufacturing: Implement and raise awareness of lean manufacturing techniques to maximise production efficiency.
- Shift Management: Lead and manage colleague activity effectively during shifts, ensuring smooth operations.
- Reporting and Analysis: Provide accurate and timely reporting of performance data relating to safety, service, and cost.
- Equipment Maintenance: Ensure the safe and effective operation of equipment and machinery by the team.
- Team Development Initiatives: Maintain the continuity and resilience of manufacturing capabilities by driving team development and training initiatives.
- Process Improvement: Ensure processes are followed correctly, while encouraging the team to challenge and improve them where necessary.
- Collaboration: Collaborate with the Production Manager and other Supervisors to share best practices and identify opportunities for improvement.
- Production Schedules: Ensure the delivery of production schedules as outlined by the operational leadership team.
- Behavioural Management: Promote safe and effective behaviours within the team, addressing poor behaviours when appropriate.
- Materials Management: Manage the receipt, production, and dispatch of materials in line with business processes and requirements.
- Health, Safety, and Environment: Work with the operational leadership team and HR to define management responsibilities regarding Health, Safety, and Environment.
- Non-Conformance Reports: Collaborate with the Quality, Compliance, and Technical teams to ensure that Non-Conformance Reports (NCRs) are raised for non-compliances and that corrective actions are implemented.
- Stakeholder Engagement: Work collaboratively with key stakeholders across the business to support the client's purpose and mission.
- Team Engagement: Engage, empower, and motivate the team through effective management tools and clear communication.
- Performance Reviews: Conduct regular 1:1 meetings with team members to ensure consistent support and guidance.
- Investigations and Disciplinary Processes: Participate in workplace investigations and disciplinary processes when necessary.
- Performance Management: Carry out annual performance reviews in line with the client's performance review process.
- KPIs and Performance: Achieve team KPIs aligned with overall business objectives.
- Performance Updates: Provide regular updates to the Production Manager on team performance against set KPIs.
- Culture Development: Drive a high-performing, values-based culture within the team.
- Management Meetings: Attend regular management meetings, providing updates and feedback on team and functional performance.
