Job Summary

This role is a critical component of the University Hospitals Birmingham NHS Foundation Trust's safety framework, focusing on medical devices. The successful candidate will work closely with the Procurement Department to ensure the Trust's medical devices are safe and compliant with regulatory requirements.

Main Responsibilities

The post holder will be responsible for:

  • Developing and coordinating medical devices safety and management across the Trust
  • Managing medical device incident reporting and learning within the Trust
  • Acting as the main contact for NHS England, the Medicines & Healthcare products Regulatory Authority (MHRA), and medical device manufacturers
  • Providing assurance that the Trust is compliant with current statutory, mandatory, regulatory, and best practice requirements
  • Collaborating with the National Medical Devices Safety Network and the Trust Equipment Strategy Group
