Pricing Director Job Description

We are seeking a highly skilled Pricing Director to lead our pricing function and provide strategic pricing insights to the business.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Lead and develop a pricing function to provide pricing support, including the deployment and management of pricing software.
  • Provide pricing insights to the business, offering professional advice and support to senior management on a regular basis.
  • Oversee pricing performance through underwriting committee and lead the production of quarterly ultimate loss ratios.
  • Engage with stakeholders, including senior management, insurers, reinsurers, captives, and external partners.
  • Develop an inclusive pricing team and create an environment of success.
  • Play a key role in the development of a captive insurance company, supporting with financial projections, coverage design, experience monitoring, and profitability analysis.
  • Align risk pricing and trading corridor with the CUO and Portfolio directors, ensuring price strength sits within a pre-agreed target range within a 3-year period.
Requirements:
  • Relevant sector experience in property and casualty, specialty lines.
  • Demonstrated experience in pricing insurance products, including the development and implementation of new pricing strategies.
  • Previous experience in leadership roles, such as managing teams of actuaries or analysts.
  • Project management experience, managing large, complex projects and cross-functional initiatives.
  • Highly collaborative and positive, with high personal integrity, resilience, and ability to work with ambiguity.
  • Insurance/Actuarial qualification or qualified by experience.
  • Degree: A bachelor's degree in actuarial science, mathematics, statistics, economics, finance, or a related field.

As a Pricing Director, you must adhere to the FCA's Conduct Rules, which include acting with integrity, due skill, care, and diligence, being open and cooperative with regulators, and treating customers fairly.
