EC & I Engineer Job Description

CMR & Life Sciences Careers is seeking an experienced EC & I Engineer to join our team in West Bromwich, West Midlands. As a key member of our Controls and Automation sector, you will be responsible for managing the full life-cycle of chemical plant instrumentation projects.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Project Management: Oversee the conceptualisation, design, installation, and commissioning of instrumentation projects, including PLC controllers, safety instrumented systems, and intrinsic safety.
  • Instrumentation Design: Create and modify instrumentation drawings using AutoCAD or similar software, and maintain familiarity with all types of instrumentation documents.
  • Record Keeping: Maintain accurate records of all instrumentation items, including modifications, repairs, and specifications.
  • Regulatory Compliance: Ensure adherence to DSEAR/ATEX compliance and functional safety standards IEC61508 & IEC61511.
  • Control and Safety Systems: Manage control and safety systems, performing proof tests along HSE guidelines and complying with HSE requirements.
  • Maintenance and Support: Maintain knowledge of Planned Preventive Maintenance and Total Productive Maintenance, and ensure the smooth operation of chemical plant instrumentation systems.
