About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Consultant Psychiatrist to join our team as a Medical Lead for our acute and locked rehabilitation mental health services in the South-west region. This is a senior leadership role that offers a unique opportunity to make a significant impact on the delivery of high-quality patient care.

As a Medical Lead, you will be responsible for supporting clinical governance and service delivery across our three sites: Pinhoe View, The Woodmill, and The Copse. You will also play a crucial role in providing medical management for our dedicated psychiatrists and collaborating with Associate Specialists and a multidisciplinary team to deliver exceptional patient outcomes.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide senior clinical advisory support to sites on clinical matters and clinical strategy
  • Participate in the development and review of policies and procedures
  • Lead quality improvement and clinical governance initiatives
  • Medical management and supervision of other medics
  • Regional representation within Elysium's clinical governance structures
  • Responsible Clinician role with an inpatient caseload
  • Multi-disciplinary, multi-agency, and partnership working
  • Mental Health Act implementation and liaison with the Ministry of Justice (if applicable)
Requirements
  • MBBS or equivalent medical qualification
  • Full GMC registration with a licence to practice
  • MRCPsych or equivalent approved by the Royal College of Psychiatrists
  • Section 12(2) approval to work in England and Approved clinician status
  • Previous medical leadership experience is desirable
