About the Role
Hounslow and Richmond Community NHS Healthcare Trust is seeking a skilled Immunisation Nurse to join their School Age Vaccination Service team. As a key member of the team, you will play a vital role in supporting the safe delivery and triage of nasal flu and other vaccination programmes.
Key Responsibilities
- Administer vaccines according to the national immunisation schedule, ensuring accurate and detailed records of immunisations given.
- Provide education and information to patients and families about immunisation, including potential side effects and the importance of vaccines.
- Monitor patients for adverse reactions following immunisation, adhering to infection control protocols to ensure a safe and clean working environment.
- Collaborate with other healthcare professionals, such as doctors, pharmacists, and social workers, to provide comprehensive care.
- Participate in public health initiatives and campaigns to promote immunisation, contributing to the identification and protection of children at risk of abuse.
Requirements
- Registered Nurse with a valid license to practice, preferably with experience in immunisation and vaccination.
- Knowledge of current immunisation schedules, vaccines, and contraindications to vaccination.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
