About the Role

This is an exciting opportunity within the Speech and Language Therapy department at University Hospitals Coventry and Warwickshire NHS Trust, rated as good by the Care Quality Commission.

As a newly qualified or experienced Speech and Language Therapist, you will have the chance to develop your Adult SLT expertise in a well-established and supportive team.

The post offers a comprehensive preceptorship programme and collaboration with other newly qualified AHPs within the trust to share experiences and learning.

You will be working in a progressive training hospital with a diverse patient mix, covering geriatrics, dementia, neurosurgery, neurology, major trauma, surgery, oncology, respiratory, and general medicine.

Key Responsibilities
  • Deliver high-quality Speech and Language Therapy services, assessing and advising on patients' care & treatment as an autonomous practitioner for patients with dysphagia and/or communication difficulties.
  • Manage a caseload of patients with varying diagnoses and complex needs relative to your experience, using evidence-based client-centred principles.
  • Contribute to the education and training of volunteers, students, and other staff.
  • Maintain accurate clinical records in line with local/Trust documentation guidelines.
  • Participate in information management to ensure timely recording, evaluation, and reporting of high-quality data.
  • Work within National and Trust policies/guidelines; monitor own practice against national and local standards.
  • Be flexible with bank holiday working hours and adapt to meet patient needs if required.

The salary for this role is £31,383 - £40,322 per annum (Band 5). The successful candidate will also have access to a wide range of learning and development opportunities and become part of a passionate and talented team.
