Job Summary:

This role serves as a vital component of the Virginia State University community, providing high-quality healthcare services to students. The ideal candidate will possess strong nursing assessment skills, with a focus on promoting healthy lifestyles through counseling, illness prevention, diagnosis, and treatment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide professional nursing care to students, utilizing evidence-based practices to promote optimal health outcomes.
  • Develop and implement health promotion programs to educate students on healthy lifestyle choices.
  • Collaborate with university staff and faculty to ensure seamless delivery of healthcare services.
  • Participate in quality improvement initiatives to enhance patient satisfaction and outcomes.

Requirements:

  • Current licensure as a registered nurse or physician assistant in the Commonwealth of Virginia.
  • Certification as a nurse practitioner.
  • Current certification in CPR/BLS.
  • Demonstrated experience working with college-aged populations.
  • Demonstrated experience as a lead clinician in a primary healthcare setting.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Demonstrated experience in women's and/or primary healthcare.
  • Participation/leadership in professional associations such as the American Nursing Association.
