Job Description

We are seeking a highly skilled Chief Network Strategist to join our Complex Delivery team at Barclays Bank PLC. As an SME in one or more technologies, you will lead transformational programs and networks-led initiatives.

The ideal candidate will have experience in a combination of technologies, including Cisco Routing and Switching, F5 Load Balancers, and Fortinet FortiGate. Other highly valued skills include Juniper Routing and Switching, Bluecoat/Symantec Proxy, and Cisco Certified - minimum CCNP Enterprise.

You may be assessed on key critical skills relevant for success in this role, such as risk and controls, change and transformation, business acumen, strategic thinking, and digital and technology.

This is a challenging role that can be based out of either Knutsford or Glasgow.

Purpose of the Role: To design, build, maintain, and support the infrastructure that underpins the development, deployment, and execution of risk models across the organisation.

Accountabilities:
  • Design and implementation of scalable and secure infrastructure solutions for risk model development, deployment, and execution.
  • Implementation of security best practices to protect the integrity and confidentiality of risk model data and systems.
Assistant Vice President Expectations:
  • Consult on complex issues; providing advice to People Leaders to support the resolution of escalated issues.
  • Identify ways to mitigate risk and developing new policies/procedures in support of the control and governance agenda.
  • Take ownership for managing risk and strengthening controls in relation to the work done.
  • Collaborate with other areas of work, for business aligned support areas to keep up to speed with business activity and the business strategy.
  • Engage in complex analysis of data from multiple sources of information, internal and external sources such as procedures and practises (in other areas, teams, companies, etc)to solve problems creatively and effectively.
  • Communicate complex information. 'Complex' information could include sensitive information or information that is difficult to communicate because of its content or its audience.
  • Influence or convince stakeholders to achieve outcomes.

Requirements: The salary range for this position is £70,000 - £100,000 per annum, depending on experience.
