Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Ophthalmology Consultant with a specialist interest in Glaucoma to join our team at Head Medical. As a Locum Consultant Ophthalmologist Glaucoma Specialist, you will play a key role in maintaining Ophthalmology services in line with strategic requirements and providing routine and emergency Ophthalmology services to our Trust.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Work closely with other Consultants in the specialty to maintain Ophthalmology services in line with strategic requirements.
  • Provide routine and emergency Ophthalmology services to the Trust, operating a system of mutual out-of-hours cover.
  • Support the growth of the Glaucoma service in delivering specialist care and the development of patient pathways.
  • Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to ensure seamless care for patients.
  • Participate in the development and implementation of departmental policies and procedures.

Requirements:

  • Be on the appropriate GMC Specialist Register or eligible for admission within six months of interview.
  • Hold FRCOphth, MRCOphth or equivalent qualifications.
  • Demonstrate evidence of a sound ophthalmic training equivalent to that recognised in the UK.
