Job Summary

Connaught Square Practice is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Medical Secretary and Clinical Administrator to join our team. As a key member of our administrative staff, you will play a critical role in supporting our GPs and clinical teams in delivering high-quality patient care.

Main Responsibilities

  • Manage and coordinate the day-to-day administrative tasks of the practice, ensuring seamless communication and collaboration between clinical and administrative teams.
  • Provide administrative support to clinicians, including preparing letters, reports, and other documents, as well as managing the practice's referral pathways and coding systems.
  • Oversee the practice's IT systems, ensuring effective use of technology to support patient care and administrative tasks.
  • Develop and implement systems to improve productivity, performance, and quality data analysis, in line with NHS standards.
  • Lead on the introduction and management of new processes and initiatives, working closely with the Practice Manager to ensure successful implementation.
  • Supervise and oversee the administrative side of the referrals process, ensuring effective systems are in place for smooth day-to-day running of the practice.
  • Monitor practice systems to ensure optimal delivery of patient services, identifying areas for improvement and implementing changes as needed.

Requirements

  • Good general education and at least 3 years' experience as a Medical Secretary or in a similar patient-facing role.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Keen eye for detail and ability to multitask, with a solution-oriented approach to problem-solving.
  • Experience of using clinical systems, such as SystmOne, and local NHS referral pathways is desirable.
