About the Role:

We are seeking an experienced Sous Chef to join our team at Young's. As a key member of our kitchen team, you will be responsible for assisting the Head Chef in the day-to-day running of the kitchen, including menu planning, food preparation, and staff management.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist the Head Chef in the planning and preparation of menus, including designing and delivering new dishes for our menus and daily specials.
  • Manage the kitchen staff rota, training, and health and safety effectively at all times.
  • Work closely with the Head Chef to maintain effective controls with regard to both GP and labour.
  • Drive sales and deliver growth through engagement with both kitchen and front of house teams.
  • Develop and implement effective kitchen systems and procedures to ensure smooth day-to-day operations.

Requirements:

  • Proven experience as a Sous Chef or Senior CDP looking for their next step.
  • Strong leadership and communication skills, with the ability to motivate and develop a team.
  • Excellent planning and organisational skills, with the ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities.
  • Passion for producing quality fresh food in a fast-paced kitchen environment.
  • Ability to work effectively in a team, with a positive and proactive attitude.
