Job Description

We are seeking a highly skilled Software Engineer to join our Quantum Chemistry team at Quantinuum. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for the development and maintenance of software solutions for our computational quantum chemistry framework.

Key Responsibilities
  • Software Development: Design, develop, and maintain software solutions for our computational quantum chemistry framework, utilizing a variety of programming languages, including Python and C++.
  • Collaboration: Work closely with our team of scientists and engineers to design and implement key components of the system.
  • Code Quality: Ensure high-quality code through the development of automated tests, participation in code reviews, and writing documentation.
  • Adaptability: Stay up-to-date with new programming languages and frameworks as needed, and adapt to changing project requirements.
  • Customer Support: Provide guidance and support to more junior colleagues, ensuring seamless collaboration and knowledge sharing.
Requirements
  • Experience: A strong record in software engineering, with experience developing and maintaining Python code.
  • Collaboration Tools: Familiarity with collaboration tools, such as version control and bug tracking systems.
  • Education: A Masters degree or PhD in Chemistry, Physics, Materials Science, or a related discipline, or a 2:1 degree or higher in Mathematics, Computer Science, Science, or Engineering.
Desirable Skills
  • Quantum Computing: Knowledge of quantum computing and quantum algorithms for chemistry.
  • Programming Languages: Experience writing Python and C++ code in a commercial environment.
  • License Management: Familiarity with license management.
