We are seeking an experienced Actuarial Pension Consultant to join our team at The Emerald Group. As a key member of our pension team, you will work closely with senior industry professionals to deliver high-quality services to our clients.

Key Responsibilities
  • Work with a variety of clients, including trustee and corporate schemes, to provide actuarial services.
  • Attend client meetings and present technical issues as required.
  • Act as a key point of contact for clients, providing day-to-day support via phone and email.
  • Manage a small team of actuarial staff to produce client work on time and within budget.
  • Provide training and guidance to junior actuarial staff as needed.
  • Lead the core work on actuarial valuations, solvency testing, and buy-in analysis.
  • Draft advice documents, including template documents and precedents.
  • Review trust deeds, rules, and member booklets.
  • Review individual member calculations, including transfers-in, transfers-out, and benefit augmentations.
Requirements
  • Hold a FIA/FFA qualification or have up to 4 years of post-qualification experience.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and oral.
  • Strong technical knowledge of UK pensions work.
  • Supervisory experience of junior actuarial staff.
  • Ability to work under tight deadlines.
