Purpose of the job

To be responsible for the effective management and development of the Special Educational Needs (SEND) Team in the provision of customer focused, SEND identification, assessment & planning services on behalf of the LA, to comply with relevant legislation and codes of practice.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead the SEND Team in delivering high-quality services to children and young people with SEND.
  • Develop and implement effective strategies to improve the identification, assessment, and planning of SEND services.
  • Collaborate with LA stakeholders to ensure compliance with relevant legislation and codes of practice.
  • Manage and develop the skills and knowledge of the SEND Team to ensure they are equipped to deliver excellent services.

Requirements:

  • Proven experience in managing a team and delivering high-quality services.
  • Strong knowledge of SEND legislation and codes of practice.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with LA stakeholders.
