Job Title: Category and Trading Lead

At Matalan, we are seeking a highly skilled Category and Trading Lead to join our team. As a key member of our divisional trading team, you will be responsible for leading the commercial sales and stock activities in accordance with our brand guidelines.

Key Responsibilities:
  1. Develop and execute trading, promotional, and merchandising strategies to drive conversion and revenue for our specified division.
  2. Work closely with key stakeholders across performance marketing and trade planning to achieve and exceed targets.
  3. Anticipate trading risks and opportunities through proactive recommendation and data-led decision making.
  4. Compile accurate daily, weekly, and seasonal reports on trading and KPI performance.
  5. Develop and lead the execution of the divisional trading activities and calendar to deliver sales targets.
  6. Provide input into the web development strategy to ensure the website meets commercial requirements effectively.
  7. Support the Head of Online Trading with coaching and development of direct reports.
Requirements:
  1. At least 4 years of experience in a similar ecommerce role in a retail or consumer-facing brand.
  2. Experience using Google Analytics, PowerBI, and Content Square.
  3. An analytical and questioning mentality with excellent Excel skills.
