About the RoleWe are seeking a dedicated and experienced Public Protection Officer to join our team in Havering. As a Public Protection Officer, you will play a crucial role in safeguarding the environment and ensuring public safety.
Key Responsibilities- Investigate complaints related to environmental protection and statutory nuisance.
- Take charge of areas such as noise/acoustics, statutory nuisance, air quality, and contaminated land.
- Provide valuable input on licensing and planning applications.
- Carry out appropriate enforcement actions and respond to nuisance complaints.
- Serve notices as necessary and support court proceedings.
- Manage a diverse enforcement caseload effectively.
- Conduct monitoring visits, with occasional unsociable hours (subject to manager approval).
- Balance in-office and remote work, with site visits as required.
- Full driver's licence, own vehicle, and business insurance (mandatory).
- Registered Environmental Health Practitioner or relevant professional qualification (desirable).
