Senior Structural Engineer Position

AECOM is seeking a skilled Senior Structural Engineer to join our Belfast office.

This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced structural engineer with a proven track record in project delivery and assessment of existing structures.

The Belfast Structures team specializes in projects across the world, focusing on healthcare, data centers, commercial, hospitality, education, and civic sectors for both public and private clients.

This role will allow you to become involved in future construction projects across Belfast and worldwide locations.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Effectively control the commercial, managerial, and technical aspects of projects or parts for which you are responsible.
  2. Sourcing opportunities and preparing fee proposals for submission to clients, including resources and program.
  3. Leading a team of engineers and technicians designing building infrastructure schemes.

Requirements:

  1. Excellent knowledge of standard engineering practices, techniques, procedures, and structural principles.
  2. Undertake structural engineering projects, performing analyses and calculations as appropriate.
  3. Supervise work, ensuring that it is carried out to the appropriate technical standard and that it is managed to program and budget.
  4. Deliver design solutions and assessment calculations, lead teams, and successfully manage projects.
  5. Have a solid track record of having worked on various structures projects, possibly as a project leader on some, with experience of dealing directly with clients.

Specific Requirements:

  1. Excellent knowledge of design in Reinforced Concrete and Structural Steelwork.
  2. Excellent working knowledge of the current Eurocodes and specifically Eurocode 2 & Eurocode 3.
  3. Excellent working knowledge of Structural Analysis Software, SCIA, TEKLA, or similar software.
  4. Experience in the assessment of existing structures and their justification, as well as new build designs.
  5. The ability to effectively communicate your message to the team, senior management, and represent AECOM professionally to clients and external bodies.
