The Role: CAT Analytics Innovation Specialist

This is a unique opportunity to leverage your technical expertise in CAT experience to create efficiencies, build tools, and improve programming within our reinsurance business. You will work closely with our broking unit to develop portfolio exposure models, create analysis procedures, and advance our CAT operations.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Contribute to process improvements and manage products, systems, and/or projects/processes
  • Develop portfolio exposure models and create analysis procedures
  • Apply knowledge to advance our CAT operations and collaborate with cross-functional teams
  • Work on complex problems or those without precedent, using best practices and knowledge of internal or external business issues to improve products/services or processes

Required Skills and Qualifications:

To succeed in this role, you will need:

  • Experience in London/global insurance markets with knowledge about (re)insurance business
  • Understanding of reinsurance structures and their application ideally within UK Property market
  • Interest in being client-facing and leading our analytics relationship with key clients
  • Working knowledge of at least one vendor model (i.e. RMS, AIR)
  • Ideal ability to demonstrate innovative applications and solutions for risk assessment
  • Strong problem-solving skills and keen attention to detail
  • Excellent IT skills, and most importantly, computer programming skills (e.g. SQL, VBA, R)

Compensation and Benefits

You can expect a competitive salary of approximately £60,000 per annum, along with a range of benefits, including:
