Job Purpose:

The role of Project Supervisor at EMCOR UK involves driving the development of contract value optimisation, tracking divisional performance of the services business, and implementing a consistent commercial framework for the projects business. The successful candidate will also develop and adapt a proactive approach to risk management, reducing risk to as low as reasonably practical.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Liaise with EMCOR UK commercial, technical, and operational management to develop contractor lists and identify new business prospects.
  • Collaborate with the Contracts Manager to prepare annual business plans, identifying opportunities and developing the small projects operations.
  • Prepare programmes, method statements, and risk assessments to ensure effective project delivery.
  • Procure labour, materials, and sub-contractors in accordance with EMCOR UK buying procedures, minimising waste and costs.
  • Liaise with EMCOR UK Management to keep them informed of contract progress and any issues that may affect the running of the contract.
  • Develop an in-house cost-effective and multi-skilled team of technicians to meet the needs of the project business.
  • Manage and supervise EMCOR UK staff and sub-contractors, ensuring compliance with Health and Safety regulations and statutory requirements.
  • Maintain accurate project administration files and costs, including financial records.
  • Prepare a monthly report for the Contracts Manager detailing project activities.
  • Attend monthly internal meetings and provide operational support as necessary to other parts of the business.
  • Perform other reasonable duties as requested.

Person Specification:

  • Hold a HNC/HND qualification or equivalent.
  • Have extensive experience in a similar role.
  • Be knowledgeable in key operational management disciplines, such as quality control and work planning methods.
  • Be capable of managing a portfolio in excess of £500k per annum.
  • Have IT literacy, including word processing, spreadsheets, and project management tools.
  • Hold a valid full driving licence, with a clean licence being desirable.
  • Have a good understanding of commercial and contractual issues.
