Role Overview

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Science Education Lead to join our high-achieving Science department in East London.

About the Role
  • Deliver outstanding teaching and learning within Science lessons and intervention sessions, promoting student progress and achievement.
  • Provide coaching and mentoring to staff and students, fostering a culture of excellence and collaboration within the Science department.
  • Evaluate the impact of learning strategies on student progress, providing actionable feedback to senior and middle leaders to inform future developments.
  • Design and deliver Continuing Professional Development (CPD) programmes for teachers within the Science department, ensuring they remain up-to-date with best practices and research.

This permanent role offers an exciting opportunity for an enthusiastic and driven individual to work alongside the Faculty Lead, contributing to the development and implementation of high-quality classroom practice and professional development.

Key Responsibilities
  • To teach and lead by example, demonstrating outstanding teaching practice and excellent behaviour management.
  • To use a range of teaching and learning techniques that engage and support learners, creating an inclusive and effective learning environment.
  • To develop and implement strategies to improve student outcomes, working collaboratively with colleagues to achieve shared goals.
  • To contribute to the development and maintenance of a positive and productive school environment, promoting a culture of respect, empathy, and inclusivity.
Requirements
  • Hold a QTS and a relevant undergraduate degree, with evidence of ongoing Continuing Professional Development (CPD).
  • Demonstrate a commitment to ongoing learning and self-improvement, staying up-to-date with best practices and research in education.
  • Show a willingness to adapt and respond to changing circumstances, prioritising the needs of students and the school community.
Salary and Benefits

The salary for this role is estimated at £60,000 - £80,000 per annum, depending on experience. The role also includes a range of benefits, including opportunities for career development, access to training and resources, and a supportive and collaborative working environment.
