Ecologist Opportunity

We are seeking an experienced Ecologist to join our team at BSG Ecology, a leading independent ecological consultancy in the UK. As an Ecologist, you will play a key role in delivering high-quality ecological services to our clients, including habitat assessments, species surveys, and environmental impact assessments.

About the Role

This is a fantastic opportunity to work with a talented team of ecologists and contribute to the success of our business. You will have the opportunity to work on a wide range of projects, from renewable energy to residential developments, and will be supported by our experienced team and comprehensive training program.

Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct ecological surveys and assessments to identify and mitigate potential environmental impacts
  • Develop and implement effective conservation strategies to protect and enhance biodiversity
  • Collaborate with clients and stakeholders to deliver high-quality ecological services
  • Contribute to the development of new business opportunities and projects
  • Participate in ongoing professional development and training to stay up-to-date with industry best practices

Requirements

  • Relevant professional ecological experience (2+ years full-time experience working in ecological consultancy)
  • Broad ecological skill-set and, ideally, protected species licenses
  • Working knowledge of current and evolving wildlife policy and legislation
  • Confidence in written and verbal communication
  • Project management and client liaison skills
  • Enthusiasm for ecology and the environment in the UK
  • Desire to promote high professional standards in ecology
  • Organized approach to work, flexibility, and high level of motivation
  • Good BSc and/or MSc in a relevant subject
  • Full driving license and access to your own transport
