Job Summary
The Senior Associate Solicitor will be responsible for managing multi-day employment litigation cases for SMEs and companies, dealing with employment tribunals and high court litigation work. Key duties will include:
- Managing employment litigation cases, including drafting and advising on contracts of employment and HR policies and procedures.
- Advising on employment status and types of working arrangements, including negotiating with solicitors representing opposing parties.
- Preparing court papers, interviewing witnesses, and instructing barristers as necessary.
- Ensuring effective completion of administrative tasks, including maintaining accurate client files and completing Law Society and other required documentation.
- Preparing bills for payment and monitoring outstanding fees, making every effort to ensure prompt payment.
- Maintaining professional knowledge and understanding through training, ensuring completion of the Law Society CPD requirements.
- Representing the practice in the wider legal/business sphere, identifying and building new client relationships.
- Time recording and maintaining up-to-date knowledge of work conducted by other legal departments to ensure accurate cross-selling opportunities.
