Staff Therapist Opportunity at Widener University

Widener University is seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Staff Therapist to join the Counseling and Psychological Services (CAPS) team. As a key member of our mental health team, you will provide direct clinical services to students, consultation, outreach, and support to the university community.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide short-term individual therapy services to students
  • Collaborate with CAPS staff to provide continuity of care and follow-up for students with significant emotional and psychological needs
  • Facilitate communication with faculty, staff, parents, and students around mental health needs and concerns
  • Actively collaborate with campus partners to provide services in a holistic, timely manner
  • Provide on-call after-hours crisis services in rotation with other staff members
  • Maintenance of thorough and prompt documentation into the EHR system
Requirements:
  • License eligible to practice in the state of Pennsylvania as a mental health professional within 6 months of hire
  • Completion of Master's or Doctoral degree in a related area of expertise
  • Minimum of 2 years' experience working in a college counseling center or other mental health center
  • Ability to maintain confidential information
  • Knowledge of laws that pertain to the provision of clinical mental health services
