Job Overview:

Our client, a renowned supplier of gases and ancillary products, is seeking an experienced Safety Health Environmental and Quality SHEQ Manager to join their team. The successful candidate will play a pivotal role in implementing and maintaining SHEQ initiatives across the company, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements and driving continuous improvement in SHEQ performance.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop and Implement SHEQ Policies: Establish and maintain SHEQ policies, procedures, and standards in line with regulatory requirements, ensuring compliance and continuous improvement.
  • Audit and Inspection: Conduct regular audits and inspections to assess compliance and identify areas for improvement, providing recommendations for corrective actions.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate SHEQ considerations into business processes, ensuring a cohesive and compliant work environment.
  • Incident Investigation: Investigate incidents, near misses, and non-conformances, leading the development and implementation of corrective and preventative actions to prevent recurrence.
  • SHEQ Expertise: Serve as a primary point of contact for SHEQ-related inquiries, providing expert advice and guidance to stakeholders within the company.
  • Training and Development: Arrange Health and Safety courses, inductions, and meetings, producing materials and agendas as required, ensuring employees are equipped with the necessary knowledge and skills.
  • Reporting and Analysis: Facilitate the reporting and investigation of Health and Safety incidents, providing statistical summaries to management and highlighting significant trends and occurrences.
Requirements:
  • Proven understanding of SHEQ legislation, with experience within the manufacturing sector.
  • Experience in successfully dealing with external regulatory bodies.
  • Hold a NEBOSH certificate or equivalent.
  • Ability to write RAMs, SSOW, and SOP.
  • In-depth knowledge of relevant regulations and standards, such as ISO 9001 and ISO 14001, and strong leadership skills.
  • Experience in Accident/Incident Investigation.
  • Flexible and committed to achieving team/site objectives.
  • Effective time management skills, with the ability to work to targets and timescales.
  • High attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Commitment to self-development and team development.
  • Good Excel and data analysis skills.
  • Full UK driving licence.
