Job Summary:



We are seeking a highly experienced Project Engineering Manager to join our RF Power Division in Chelmsford. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing complex engineering projects from concept to delivery, ensuring they are completed on time, within budget, and to the required quality standards.



Main Responsibilities:




  • Manage and coordinate engineering teams, other departments, and third-party suppliers to deliver projects successfully.
  • Develop and maintain project plans, ensuring clear roles and tasks are defined and delivered.
  • Ensure projects are adequately resourced and planned to achieve the programme in the most cost-effective manner.
  • Conduct regular project reviews, assessing time, cost, quality, and risks.
  • Manage changes to project scopes and objectives, involving stakeholders, assessing feasibility, and seeking approval.
  • Communicate project progress, performance, and manpower utilization to stakeholders.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with customers and other stakeholders.
  • Ensure projects are delivered in adherence to internal project management processes and procedures.
  • Establish and improve delivery methodologies to achieve programme goals.
  • Support Business Development in securing new business and setting strategy.
  • Line manage multi-disciplined engineering teams, allocating resources, and driving high performance.


Requirements:




  • Extensive experience in managing engineering projects through all or part of the lifecycle.
  • Demonstrable experience in energising teams to meet critical timescales and deliver projects.
  • Persuasive and clear communication skills across all levels of the business.
  • Strong problem-solving capabilities.
  • Strong commercial awareness.
  • Sound judgement, understanding when to own and brief and when to escalate.
  • Proficiency in using and understanding project management tools such as MS Project and MS Project Server.
  • A working knowledge of SAP would be beneficial.
  • Qualification in project management methodologies desirable.
  • Holding or eligible for Security Clearance and a UK National.
