We are seeking two ambitious individuals to join our newsroom as apprentices, commencing in February 2025. This prestigious program offers a unique chance to gain invaluable experience and skills in journalism, while earning a competitive salary of £30,000 per annum.
Overviewi is Britain's youngest national news publisher, committed to publishing non-partisan reporting and intelligent opinion. Our mission is to provide high-quality content to our readers, and we are looking for talented individuals to help us achieve this goal.
Salary and BenefitsThe successful candidates will receive a fixed salary of £30,000 per annum, paid for the duration of the two-year apprenticeship. Additionally, they will receive fully funded tuition throughout the scheme, allowing them to complete a nationally recognized journalism qualification via the PA Media Academy.
Job DescriptionAs an apprentice at i, you will work towards achieving your Junior Journalism Apprenticeship, comprising the NCTJ Diploma in Journalism and a final assessment project. You will spend six weeks on intensive training with our partner PA Media Academy, followed by thirteen weeks of PA training from Monday to Thursday, with Fridays spent in our newsroom.
Required Skills and QualificationsTo be eligible for this role, you must have A-levels and/or a BTEC Level 3 as a qualification requirement. No prior journalism experience is necessary, but a passion for storytelling and a willingness to learn are essential.
