Principal Process Safety Engineer

iO Associates, a leading engineering consultancy, is seeking a highly skilled Principal Process Safety Engineer to join their Nuclear and Power team. This is an exciting opportunity to work with a global client base in highly regulated industries, both in the UK and internationally.

As a key member of the team, you will be responsible for providing technical safety expertise across the project lifecycle, from feasibility to commissioning. Your primary focus will be on the Nuclear New Build and Science and Industry markets, with potential involvement in Decommissioning and Disposal, Net Zero, and Defence and Generation projects.

Key responsibilities will include:

  • Leading process safety-related project issues and supervising the delivery of high-quality technical safety activities
  • Providing assistance on proposals and bids for future projects
  • Conducting multidiscipline hazard workshops, including HAZID, HAZOP, LOPA, bowtie analysis, and ALARP demonstration
  • Establishing the severity of hazards in risk assessments, including fire, toxics, and explosion
  • Confidently conducting DSEAR risk assessments and demonstrating knowledge of legislative requirements associated with major hazards

iO Associates offers a competitive salary range of £75,000-£85,000, along with a range of benefits, including 25 days holiday plus bank holidays, 3% ER/6% EE pension, and private medical insurance.
