Principal Design Engineer

We are seeking a highly skilled Principal Design Engineer to join our team at Consortium Professional Recruitment Ltd. As a key member of our engineering team, you will be responsible for leading the design process for overhead line structures and ensuring compliance with applicable engineering standards.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead the design process for overhead line structures and ensure compliance with applicable engineering standards.
  • Oversee project schedules and deliverables to ensure timely completion while managing financial aspects effectively.
  • Ensure health and safety compliance throughout all projects, proactively resolving any issues that arise.
  • Mentor junior engineers, providing technical guidance and fostering their professional growth.
  • Supervise all design operations, ensuring adherence to established quality procedures and standards.
  • Oversee site activities to verify that all procedures and designs are approved prior to implementation.
  • Manage a range of structural projects, ensuring they meet quality standards, timelines, and budget constraints.
  • Engage with clients and stakeholders to monitor progress and maintain quality assurance.

Requirements:

  • A bachelor's or master's degree in a related engineering discipline (Civil, Mechanical, or Electrical Engineering).
  • A minimum of 5 years of industry experience, preferably with overhead line projects.
  • Proficiency in relevant industry software such as PLS CADD, PLS Tower, or similar.
  • Familiarity with national and industry standards, including BS EN 50341.
  • Excellent communication and problem-solving skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with diverse teams and clients.
