About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Tobacco Treatment Dependency Advisor to join our team at Birmingham Women's and Children's NHS Foundation Trust. As a key member of our team, you will play a vital role in supporting women and families who wish to stop smoking.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide individualized smoking cessation support to pregnant women, post-partum women, and their partners and/or close family members.
  • Promote wellbeing and healthy lifestyles by providing public health information, advice, support, and brief interventions.
  • Work closely with community midwife teams and other healthcare professionals to deliver effective smoking cessation services.
  • Manage caseloads, data entry, and maintain accurate records.
  • Develop and implement smoking cessation plans tailored to individual needs.
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to ensure seamless care and support.
Requirements
  • NVQ Level 3 in Healthcare or equivalent.
  • GCSE pass in English Language or equivalent.
  • Experience working with and understanding of Excel Spreadsheet.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Knowledge of public health and maternity services.
  • Experience of engaging and collaborating with communities, individuals, and multidisciplinary teams.
Desirable Qualifications and Experience
  • Smoking Cessation Advisor Intermediate level qualification.
  • Trained in Making Every Contact Count and Motivational Interviewing.
  • Experience of providing smoking cessation support.
  • Previous experience in healthcare in the NHS.
  • Smoking cessation trained through the National Centre for Smoking Cessation and Training.
