Tobacco Treatment Dependency Advisor

About the Role
Birmingham Women's and Children's NHS Foundation Trust is seeking a highly motivated and dedicated Tobacco Treatment Dependency Advisor to join our team. The successful candidate will work across the Birmingham maternity footprint, providing individualized smoking cessation support to pregnant women, post-partum women, and their partners and/or close family members.
Main Responsibilities
The Tobacco Treatment Dependency Advisor will provide smoking cessation support, promote healthy lifestyles, and provide public health information, advice, and brief interventions. The post holder will work closely with the Tobacco Treatment Dependency Lead and be allocated to one or more community midwife teams within Birmingham.
Requirements
- NVQ Level 3 in Health care or equivalent
- GCSE pass in English Language or equivalent
- Experience working with and understanding of Excel Spreadsheet
Desirable Qualifications and Experience
- Smoking Cessation Advisor Intermediate level qualification
- Trained in Making Every Contact Count and Motivational Interviewing
Key Skills and Abilities
- Excellent communication skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Experience working with pregnant women
- Audit skills
- Excellent and accurate data entry skills
