Job Title: Special Needs Teaching Assistant

We are seeking an experienced and passionate Teaching Assistant to join our team at a friendly Special Needs Secondary school in Portsmouth. The successful candidate will have a strong background in supporting children with complex learning difficulties and a passion for making a positive impact on their lives.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Supporting small groups of pupils with learning tasks under the guidance of a teacher
  • Working with children aged 11-16 with complex learning difficulties
  • Supporting children's emotional wellbeing and communication skills
  • Supporting children to achieve their personalised EHCP targets
  • Safeguarding the welfare of the pupils

Requirements:

  • Right to work in the UK
  • Up-to-date CV with two relevant references from within the last 2 years
  • DBS registered to the update service or willingness to apply for one with GSL Education
