About the Role

Luton Borough Council is seeking a Deputy Team Manager to join its Family Safeguarding Service. This role plays a key part in delivering high-quality children's social services, focused on achieving positive outcomes for children and young people.

As a Deputy Team Manager, you will assess, support, and safeguard children at risk of harm, working in a multi-disciplinary team that engages family members and professionals from the outset. You will manage day-to-day tasks such as assessments, care planning, and child protection with a primary goal of preventing family separation wherever possible.

In collaboration with the Team Manager, you'll lead, motivate, and coach the team to maintain high standards of social work practice, supporting team members in their professional growth and ensuring effective outcomes for children.

About You

We're looking for a passionate, driven individual with in-depth post-qualifying experience and a background in managing, mentoring, and coaching staff. You should have strong leadership skills, be able to inspire a team, and ensure high performance.
