Mechanical Maintenance Specialist

We are seeking a skilled Mechanical Maintenance Specialist to join our team at Shorterm Group. As a key member of our maintenance team, you will be responsible for carrying out routine maintenance and repairs on rail vehicles to ensure they are safe and operational.
As a Mechanical Maintenance Specialist, your primary duties will include:
- Carrying out vehicle maintenance work as allocated by the Team Leader or Production Engineer within set timescales and standards
- Operating rail vehicles as required, within depot operating limits, and in accordance with relevant procedures
- Replacing broken parts such as rafts, alternators, and couplers
- Performing C4, C6, C8, and C10 maintenance
- Refurbishing and modifying rail vehicles
The ideal candidate will have a minimum of one of the following qualifications: BTEC certificate in Engineering, City and Guilds certificate in Engineering, or NVQ Level 3 certificate in Engineering. Traction and rolling stock qualification is preferred.
Able to interpret engineering drawings and possessing basic IT skills, the successful candidate will also have previous experience in heavy maintenance activities.
Salary range: £17.64 - £23.10 per hour, PAYE or Umbrella.
