Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly motivated and enthusiastic Catering Assistant to join our dedicated kitchen team at Derbyshire County Council. As a Catering Assistant, you will play a vital role in supporting the kitchen supervisor in all areas of the service, ensuring the highest standards of food quality and customer service.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist in food preparation, cooking, and portion control to meet the needs of our customers.
  • Ensure allergen compliance and maintain a clean and safe working environment.
  • Prepare the dining room for service, ensuring a welcoming atmosphere for our customers.
  • Provide excellent customer service, responding to customer queries and concerns in a professional and courteous manner.
  • Work collaboratively with the kitchen team to achieve our goals and objectives.

Requirements:

  • Successful completion of the NVQ food hygiene certificate is required upon appointment.
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment, prioritizing tasks and managing time efficiently.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work with colleagues and customers at all levels.
  • Flexibility to work varied shifts, including weekends and school holidays.
