The Ecclesbourne Valley Railway is seeking additional casual paid employees to work alongside it's dedicated team of volunteers to handle an increased level of bookings within the Catering Department. Roles may be in the Station Cafe, serving during our On Train Dining Experiences or in the Apollo Bar. This casual role is customer facing and experience in the catering profession or working with customers is preferred.

Duties include:

- Tending a warm welcome to restaurant car customers, escorting guests to reserved tables.
- Setting tables prior to service.
- Clearing plates and cutlery during service.
- Serving meals, beverages, water and refilling as needed.
- Assisting kitchen staff with meal preparation, appetisers, or desserts
- Clearing tables when guests complete their meals and assisting with opening /closing tasks and other duties as needed.
- Serving hot drinks in the cafe
- Operating the till
- Experience of working with customers/general public or in a catering environment.
- Have a friendly character, being polite and courteous.
- Work well as part of a team and on an individual basis.
- Legally able to serve alcohol would beneficial.
- Physically able to wipe tabletops, carry plates etc and be comfortable balancing on a moving train.
- Work well under pressure.

Casual hours of work are to suit the public timetable of on train dining to be agreed with the Catering Manager. Our attraction is a seasonal business with busier times in the summer months and quieter periods in winter.

**Job Types**: Permanent, Zero hours contract
Contract length: 12 months

**Salary**: From £10.42 per hour
